Virtual Warrane II – Sacred Tracks of the Gadigal

Written by Parrish Rodgers.

Real Serious Games has been working with Immersive Heritage and one of its Directors, Brett Leavy, to develop a Serious Game, Virtual Warrane II – Sacred Tracks of the Gadigal. The game takes you on a journey through Sydney Cove (Warrane) before the European settlement of the area in 1788 – before the trees were cut down, tents and buildings erected and the Europeans took charge of the pristine foreshore. Virtual Warrane II aims to teach people about the land, bush tucker and flora and fauna.

An exhibition, where the game is available to be played, is on at Sydney Customs House from 12 July to 17 August and 23 September to 23 October 2012. The exhibition is in the Customs House Green Room, Ground Floor, 31 Alfred Street, Circular Quay, NSW 2000. Opening Hours are Mon-Fri 8am-12 midnight, Sat 10am-midnight, Sun 11am-5pm.

The 2011 Mining Industry Skill Centre Conference

Written by Parrish Rodgers.

One of the highlights of this year’s MISC Conference was the launch of ASH. ASH stands for Accelerated Skilling Hubs; a model the Mining Industry Skills Centre has developed to address the skills shortage in the resource industry. The technology partners together with Real Serious Games are: MISC, CSIRO, Immersive Realisation, SAGE and CAE Mining. If you’d like to know more about ASH take a look at the MISC media release.

With the conference all wrapped up, RSG would like to thank all those who took the time to talk to us and make the conference a fun two days.

Karen Sanders (Director, Real Serious Games) conducted two presentations during the conference highlighting our technology and services which, combined with the other ASH partners skills, emphasised to the conference attendees the possibilities of the ASH vision.

RSG is excited and committed to working with the ASH partners to make this great vision a reality.
