Green the Street

Real Serious Games supported urban designer, Catherine Simpson deliver her vision for the green urban design initiative “Green the Street”. Using RSG’s innovative technology Catherine developed a 360 vision of the Gregory Terrace 30 years into the future. Design inputs included drawings and plans from various urban designers, and the ageing-inclusivity consultants, The Ageing Revolution. The 360 VR image was on display at the Brisbane Ekka festival to people of all ages. Using the VR headset, participants were immersed in a forward vision of green spaces. Using the existing structure of the old museum, VR gave viewers an insight to a greener future, showing more inclusive infrastructure, including rainbow crossings for the elderly, benches and hi rises with hanging gardens and roof top green spaces with a futuristic ‘park in the sky’ feel.
